Install Sage 50 Accounting on your computer

ClosedTo perform a Typical Installation of Sage 50 Accounting with an installation disc:

  1. Insert the Sage 50 Accounting disc into your computer. When the launch window, opens click Install Sage 50 Accounting.
  2. If the launch window doesn't open, open the Windows Start menu and select Run. Type D:LAUNCH in the Open box and click OK (Substitute your optical disc drive letter if it isn't D:).

  3. (Optional) Select your language preference.
  4. (Optional) If you have the Windows Firewall turned on, click Yes to let Sage 50 Accounting automatically set up your firewall options. If you click No, or if you have a different firewall installed, you will need to configure your firewall permissions manually for Sage 50 Accounting. Consult our online knowledgebase for additional information about configuring your firewall.
  5. Select the Type of installation and then click Next:
  6. Enter your serial number or select to install a Free Trial Version and click Next.
  7. Read the Licence Agreement and select the I Agree checkbox.
  8. Click Install.
  9. (Optional) Select Open Sage 50 Accounting.
  10. (Optional) Select View product information in the README. This file may contain release notes that are not included in the online help.
  11. (Optional) Select Learn how to configure Windows and folders so I can share company data with other Sage 50 Accounting users.
  12. Click Finish.
  13. (Optional) Restart your computer.

ClosedTo perform an Advanced Installation (Custom) of Sage 50 Accounting with an installation disc:

  1. Insert the Sage 50 Accounting disc into your computer. When the launch window opens click Install Sage 50 Accounting.
  2. If the launch window doesn't open, open the Windows Start menu and select Run. Type D:LAUNCH in the Open box and click OK (Substitute your optical disc drive letter if it isn't D:).

  3. (Optional) Select your language preference.
  4. (Optional) If you have the Windows Firewall turned on, click Yes to let Sage 50 Accounting automatically set up your firewall options. If you click No, or if you have a different firewall installed, you will need to configure your firewall permissions manually for Sage 50 Accounting. Consult our online knowledgebase for additional information about configuring your firewall.
  5. Select the Type of installation and then click Next:
  6. Select Custom so you can select the components to install.
  7. Enter your serial number or select to install a Free Trial Version and click Next.
  8. (Optional) Choose which components you wish to install.
  9. (Optional) Select the folder into which Sage 50 Accounting will be installed:
    • If you want to change the default folder for the new installation, click Browse and then locate and select the folder in which Sage 50 Accounting should be installed. Click OK and then click Next.
    • Click Next if you want to install the new version of Sage 50 Accounting over your earlier version. You will not be able to use your previous copy of Sage 50 Accounting if you select this option. Click Next.
    • (Optional) Select the Add a shortcut to my desktop checkbox.
  10. Review your installation choices in the Installation summary. If you need to make any changes, use the Back button to get to the correct window. Otherwise, click Next to proceed with the installation.
  11. Read the Licence Agreement and select the I Agree checkbox.
  12. Click Install.
  13. (Optional) Select Open Sage 50 Accounting.

  15. (Optional) Select Learn how to configure Windows and folders so I can share company data with other Sage 50 Accounting users.
  16. Click Finish.
