How do I synchronize a Sage Billing Boss account with Sage Simply Accounting?
Before you can perform this task
- You must have a Sage Billing Boss account account. If you are an accountant, ensure that your client has a Sage Billing Boss account.
In the Synchronization Setup dialog box, you can quickly enter the necessary information for Sage Billing Boss and Sage Simply Accounting synchronization. Information that you enter in this window is stored in Company Settings under Sage Billing Boss Sync.
Tips:
- When working in Sage Billing Boss, keep in mind that the synchronization process will not include customer information such as contact and address. Only the customer name is synchronized in Sage Simply Accounting.
- If you import a customer record into Sage Simply Accounting and then delete the customer in Sage Billing Boss, the customer is still in your Sage Simply Accounting company data even after future synchronizations.
- After successfully synchronizing with Sage Billing Boss, if you need to adjust an invoice that has been imported from Sage Billing Boss, you should first adjust the invoice within Sage Billing Boss and then synchronize once again with Sage Simply Accounting.
- In the Home window, on the File menu, choose Import/Export, and then Synchronize with Sage Billing Boss.
- In the Synchronization Setup dialog box, enter the email address that is associated with your Sage Billing Boss account and your Sage Billing Boss password. The last email address that you enter is stored. Keep this in mind if you connect to Sage Billing Boss with various email addresses.
- (Required) For Track Sales, select an account to track sales transactions for customer records that do not have a default revenue account. If this account has already been selected for your company, this menu is disabled.
- For Track Customer Payments, select an account to track customer payments made in either cash or by cheque.
- In the Home window, on the File menu, choose Import/Export, and then Synchronize with Sage Billing Boss.
- In the Synchronization Setup dialog box, enter your Sage Billing Boss credentials (email and password). The last email address that you enter is stored. Keep this in mind if you connect to Sage Billing Boss with various email addresses.
- Then enter your client's email address in the bottom field.
- For Track Sales, select an account to track sales transactions for customer records that do not have a default revenue account. If this account has already been selected for your company, this menu is disabled.
- For Track Customer Payments, select an account to track customer payments made in either cash or by cheque.
Notes:
If you have already completed the necessary steps for synchronization, including email addresses and default accounts for both sales and receipts, you only need to enter your password for subsequent logins.
