Dimmed Fields and Menu Choices
A box or a menu choice may be unavailable because:
- A window
is open. For example, you cannot change the credit card settings from
the Settings menu if you have the Sales, Quotes, or Orders windows open.
- An option has not
been turned on. For example, there is no Budget tab in a revenue or expense
account's record if the Budget Revenue and Expense Accounts option is
turned off (on the Setup menu, choose Settings, then General, and then Budget).
- You have signed
on to Sage 50 Accounting with a user
profile that does not have access to the command.
- You are trying
to perform a task in multi-user mode (Sage 50 Premium Accounting) that requires you to open the company
file in single-user
mode.
- The command is
no longer needed. For example, once you have finished entering history,
the History menu is no longer available.
- Your accountant
has adjusted a transaction with a linked account. Future changes to these
transactions will need to be made by your accountant. Transactions that
can be affected include:
- General Journal entries
- Paycheques
- Purchases, Orders,
and Quotes
- Payments
- Sales, Orders,
and Quotes
