Sage Simply Accounting currently supports filing original, replacement, amended, cancelled and test Relevé 1 (RL-1) slips via the Internet or on electronic media. Electronic filing speeds processing, so you can complete year-end tasks quickly. The Ministère du Revenu du Québec requires that you file your payroll tax forms and employee RL-1 slips by the last day of February (or the next business day, if this day falls on a Saturday or Sunday ) of the calendar year following the year to which they pertain.
Note: If you are filing more than 50 slips, Revenu Québec requires you to file your slips electronically.
To file electronically, contact the Groupe de promotion de l'EDI et d'acquisition de données électroniques. You will be assigned the following:
You are required to distribute copies of the RL-1 slips to your employees. If you want the employee E-file slip numbers to appear on your printed RL-1 slips, you must file the RL-1 slips electronically before you print them.
You must be registered with Clic Revenu in order to file RL-1 slips over the Internet.
If you file using electronic media, you will need to have the Sage Simply Accounting Revenu Québec certification number. This number changes annually and is available from:
For the year you select, Sage Simply Accounting creates RL-1 slips in a file format required by the Ministère du Revenu du Québec. This file can then be sent to Revenu Québec via the Internet or you can save it onto electronic media (for example, CD, DVD, or diskette) to mail it in. Visit the Revenu Québec web site for current information about size, volume, and media format restrictions on electronic submissions.
Sage Simply Accounting cannot write to multiple disks. Use the appropriate media that enables you to save all your information on one disk. Check the Clic Revenu web site for a complete list of acceptable electronic media.
Note: Sage Simply Accounting does not submit a Summary of Source Deductions and Employer Contributions form with your RL-1 slips. You can fill in this form on the Revenu Québec web site or print it out and mail it in.
