Search for Records or Transactions
The Search button provides
basic options to search for a record or transaction.
If you know the customer or supplier's
name
- Open the Customer
or Supplier icon window.
- On the toolbar,
type a name in the Search field
. Sage Simply Accounting highlights the first record in the icon
window that matches your entry.
- Press the Enter
key to display the customer or supplier record in a new window.
If you don't know the customer
or supplier's name
- Open the Customer
or Supplier icon window.
- On the toolbar,
click the Search button
.
- (Optional) Enter
the first few letters of the customer or supplier's name in the Search box.
- Select the customer
or supplier from the list and click OK.
To search for a transaction

Open the Search window by:
- Opening the transaction window associated with the type of transaction you want to look up (for example, Sales Invoices) and clicking
or
next to the source number box.
- (Optional) Fill in any information you want to include in order to shorten the results list (for example, a Start date for the search).
- Click OK.
- (Optional) Sort
the results in ascending or descending order, by selecting a sort option
in the View by list, and then clicking
the Sort
button.
- Double-click the transaction, or select it and then click Select.
- (Optional) To print the transaction, click Print
.
