Search for Records or Transactions

The Search button provides basic options to search for a record or transaction.

If you know the customer or supplier's name 

  1. Open the Customer or Supplier icon window.
  2. On the toolbar, type a name in the Search field . Sage Simply Accounting highlights the first record in the icon window that matches your entry.
  3. Press the Enter key to display the customer or supplier record in a new window.

If you don't know the customer or supplier's name

  1. Open the Customer or Supplier icon window.
  2. On the toolbar, click the Search button .
  3. (Optional) Enter the first few letters of the customer or supplier's name in the Search box.
  4. Select the customer or supplier from the list and click OK.

To search for a transaction

  1. Open the Search window by:
  2. (Optional) Fill in any information you want to include in order to shorten the results list (for example, a Start date for the search).
  3. Click OK.
  4. (Optional) Sort the results in ascending or descending order, by selecting a sort option in the View by list, and then clicking the Sort button.
  5. Double-click the transaction, or select it and then click Select.
  6. (Optional) To print the transaction, click Print .
