Enter an Account's Opening Balance

To add an opening balance to a bank account or a business operating account:

Note: In Simply Accounting, you can only enter an opening balance during the first year of business .

  1. In the Home window, on the Tools menu, select For My Accountant, and then Account Information.
  2. From the list in the Select field, choose the bank account to which you're adding an opening balance.
  3. Click the Info tab.
  4. Enter an opening balance.
  5. Click Save and Close.
