Using Sage Simply Accounting with a Firewall

Software firewalls are intended to prevent unauthorized access to your computer and unauthorized programs on your computer from accessing the Internet or your company's network.

Sage Simply Accounting installs several processes that you need to add to your firewall's list of permitted programs:

Note: If you chose a different install location other than the default program files location, substitute your custom location for Program Files\Simply Accounting [Edition Name]\.

These processes are required to allow Sage Simply Accounting to communicate with the database in which your company information is stored and to notify you when product updates are available.

If you are using Windows Firewall and clicked Yes when prompted to automatically set up your firewall to work with Sage Simply Accounting, these processes have already been added to your list of permitted programs.
