Setup Guide: Entering Opening Balances for Accounts

Before You Begin

Read About Opening Balances if you have not done so.

To enter opening balances for Accounts:

1. From the Setup menu, select Setup Guide,and then Accounts.
2. In the Opening Balance column, enter the opening balance for each account.
3. Click Close when finished

Note: If your accounts aren't balanced when you try to close this window, Sage Simply Accounting asks you how you want to proceed. You can either: 

• Return to the Accounts window so that you can double-check your balances
• Leave everything as is and balance your books by recording the difference in your Retained Earnings account
