Expand or Change Account Numbering

You can expand or shorten the range of your account numbering system. You can add or remove digits from your account numbering system or change the start and end numbers used by any of the account groups (or account classes). An expanded numbering system must follow the established Account Numbering order. It is possible, however, to leave gaps in your numbering system for later use.

Any changes you make to your account numbers will automatically update your linked accounts.

If you have upgraded your data from another version of Sage Simply Accounting, it is easiest to add extra digits to your accounts and leave the numbering structure as it is.

If you are using Sage Simply Accounting Accountants' Edition, you can re-number accounts as you work.
