Start New Year

Before you can perform this task

If you are working with a new company, you have to finish entering all historical information about your company before starting a new year.

To start a new fiscal or calendar year in Sage Simply Accounting:

  1. In the Home window on the Maintenance menu, choose Start New Year.
  2. (Optional) Use the checklists to determine if you have completed all year-end procedures.

For a consolidated company (Premium)

Before you start a new year in either a parent or subsidiary consolidated company, be sure that you update your consolidated company first.

If a new year is started in the parent or one of the subsidiary consolidated companies:

  1. Start a new year in all the other parent or subsidiary consolidated companies
  2. Update the consolidated company.
