- Create a new service item record. 
How?- In the Home window, click Inventory & Services on the navigation pane.
 - In the Tasks pane, right-click the Inventory & Services icon and select Add Inventory & Services from  the menu.
 
 
                - On the right side of the window, in the Type section, select Service.
 
                - (Optional) Select the Activity (Time & Billing) check box 
 if you want to include this service on time slips.  (Premium)
 
                - (Required) In the Item Number box, enter a reference number 
 (up to 14 characters) for the service item.
 
                - In the Description box, type in a brief description of the item. This description will accompany 
 the item number in all forms and transactions.
 
                - (Optional) If you have set up categories, select 
 a category from the list.  (Premium)
 
                - Click each tab on the window and fill in the details:
 
                
                - (Optional) If you 
 no longer buy or sell this service, select the Inactive 
 Item check box at the bottom of the window to make it inactive.
 
                - (Optional) If this 
 item is a service that you track internally, 
 select the Internal Service Activity check 
 box.
 
                - On the File menu 
 choose Save.

 items and services "on the fly" from the following transaction 
 windows if the item or service record does not yet exist when you need 
 to record a transaction:
